Slouchy is "It"

Move over skinny jeans, there's a new silhouette making a statement - the slouchy pant. The slouchy pant is not only stylish, but uber-comfy. Pair these pants with heels, a blouse, and a blazer for the office. Or a slinky top to hit the bars. Tired of your maxi dress weekend look? Pair your slouchy pant with a tee and flats.

A few key points to keep in mind. Look for a pant that has some drape to it. You don't want your pants to fit too tight in your thighs. To keep your body looking well proportioned, pick a top that has some structure, or something that is tighter fitting. You can also tuck the front of your blouse into the waist so that your waist line is visible.

I hope you're inspired to add this pant to your wardrobe!

America's Cup Inspired

America's Cup has been the hot topic in the Marina for the last year, and it's right around the corner! I love a good nautical theme and decided to partake in the excitement.

I try to craft all of my window pieces, but these flags by The Land of Nod we're too cute to pass up. I found some faux fishing net, borrowed my mom's oars, and here we go - Nautical Windows! Definitely my easiest window installment  yet!

See you at the races!

Layering {1 dress 2 ways}

Layering is a MUST in San Francisco. This city is beautiful, but it has crazy micro-climates that change by the hour. I can leave for work in a blanket of fog, and arrive to a cloudless sky. It took me about a year to really grasp this concept, but after 8 years of San Francisco living, I think I have almost mastered layering.

Layering also extends your closet, and can completely change the look of an ordinary outfit. I took a simple shift dress and styled it with different accessories and a button-up blouse.

Britt Structured Shift $74 | Brandee Stud T-Strap $50 | Clutch $60 | Necklace $30

Lissy Lace Blouse $56 | Necklace $40 | Doris Flat $80 | Purse $65

Happy layering

Fashionably Backpacking

In January, Whitney (Heritage Row's manager and model) announced she and her husband were going on a month long trip to Italy. Almost two years ago, they went on a month long trip for their honeymoon, and were faced with several travel issues that made the trip at times, unenjoyable. Dustin decided this time around they would only bring what they could cary on their backs. Um, excuse me? You're expecting your fashion obsessed wife to fit a month of events into a backpack? Challenge accepted!

Two days before they left, I went to Whitney's and weeded through her pile of potential pieces. We decided on a few staples that she could easily use throughout her trip - and the rest was some creative outfit planning. She knew Italy would be pretty warn and they would be doing ALOT of walking. She needed a few outfits that could be dressed up for evening, or could transition from touring the sites to a yummy Italian dinner.

Here are a few pics of what we packed...

{White tee for day}

{Bustier for night}

Whitney is going to keep us posted on her travels and outfits :)
